Are payments made on the Blue Moon Shop secure?
Yes! Blue Moon Gift Shop is built using the security of Shopify, trusted by over 500,000 online stores, having processed over $40 billion worth of transactions since their inception.
Shopify payments are certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant, and this compliance extends by default to all stores powered by Shopify. From annual on-site assessments validating compliance to continuous risk management, Shopify works hard to keep our shop secure.
Where is Blue Moon located?
The Blue Moon design studio is located in West Guilford, Ontario. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public, but we hope to have a physical location or boutique in Haliburton in the future.
Can I pick up my order in person?
No. We currently only offer delivery on Blue Moon products.
Where are Blue Moon products printed?
Orders made in Canada are printed in our partner facility in Ontario. Orders made outside Canada are fulfilled at our closest partner facility to the delivery location.
Will Blue Moon be adding any new product types?
Yes! We plan to release Haliburton County designs on many new product types in the near future. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook for updates!
How do I care for my Blue Moon products?
Printed apparel (direct-to-garment)
We use the latest direct-to-garment (DTG) printing technology to offer a wide variety of printable garments and design color options. We use high-quality inks that won't fade for a long time if taken care of properly.
Keep in mind that the original manufacturer's care instructions don't take into consideration the DTG printing process. So we suggest following the care instructions on this page to learn how to take care of your printed garments properly.
Printed apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. You shouldn't use any fabric softeners or dry-clean the items.
DTG-printed apparel can be tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang-dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Don't iron the print.
Follow these instructions carefully to avoid fading and cracking of the print, and shrinking the garment that can occur if you wash or dry it on a high setting.
Embroidered hats
Embroidered hats can be wiped clean with a damp cloth in the spots where it's needed. If necessary, hats can be hand-washed cold. Don't use brushes.
Hats can't be machine-washed, bleached, tumble-dried, ironed, and dry-cleaned. Read the manufacturer label carefully for any other instructions.
Wall Art
To ensure that your posters and canvas last for a long time, don’t keep them in direct sunlight or outdoors. They can be gently dusted with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster.

What technology is used to print on t-shirts (and other fabric products)?
Our suppliers standard process is the Direct to Garment (DTG) method of printing. That means we can create photo-quality prints, with a very high colour count. They use Kornit printers for all DTG-printed garments.
What type of inks do you use for printing?
For tees and sweaters, we use Kornit Water-based and NeoPigment inks that are Oeko-Tex™ certified, which means they are safe to print on children’s clothing and reduce environmental waste. These inks provide a high washing colorfast AATCC rating of 4.
For Wall Art, we use Epson UltraChrome GS3 ink. This ink is also GREENGUARD Gold certified.

Why does my shirt have a vinegar smell?
When unpacking a new shirt or hoodie with a direct-to-garment (DTG) print, you might notice a vinegar-like smell or an off-white residue. Don't worry, that's not unusual - it's from a fixation agent applied during the printing process and it's not permanent.
Fixation agent (sometimes known as pre-treatment) is used for all DTG prints across the industry. It helps the ink bond with the fabric, and without it, the ink would flake off the garment.
The solution is simply to wash the garment! Neither the residue nor the smell is permanent and both should go away after one wash. If the discoloration is noticeable, the quality control team will include a card explaining that it's from the fixation agent.
